Comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of different antenna structures

The antenna types of radar level transmitters can be classified into threaded type, flange type and bracket type according to the process connection type.

Threaded type

Advantage: Easy for installation

Disadvantage: The process connection requires a corresponding female thread, and the transmission angle and direction of the radar signal cannot be adjusted.

Anti-corrosion integrated flange type

Advantage: Corrosion-resistant, excellent sealing performance, higher signal radiation efficiency, faster attenuation at the near-end, better performance for small-range and near-end measurement. Recommended for applications such as corrosive liquids, small tanks, agitator, steam and etc.

Disadvantage: Higher cost

Adjustable flange type

Advantage: The transmission angle and direction of the radar signal can be adjusted. It is recommended for complex structures inside the tank/silo or bulk solids. The air purge can be added for use in applications with heavy dust.

Disadvantage: It can only be used for ATM conditions and cannot be used for pressure storage tanks.

Adjustable bracket type

Advantage: The transmission angle and direction of the radar signal can be adjusted. It is recommended for open-type working conditions. For example, mining, raw material storage yards, open-type tanks and open channels.

Disadvantage: It can only be used for ATM conditions and cannot be used for pressure storage tanks.
