The beam angle of the 80GHz radar level transmitters can be classified into 3° and 8° . The different diameters of the antenna lens result in different beam angles.
Beam angle 8°: Suitable for simple application conditions, such as liquid applications without strong dust, steam, stirring, foam, etc. Not recommended to be used for harsh conditions and bulk solids.
The advantage is that the process connection size is small (1.5 inch) which required the small opening hole and make it convenient for on-site installation.
Beam angle 3°: Can be used for for both liquids and bulk solids applications with complex and harsh conditions, such as strong dust, steam, stirring, foam, etc. The advantage is that it has a strong anti-interference capability.
Example for 3° at a distance of 100m.
